Was wondering why don't we try adding a new map to tempest...?
I think peeps will enjoy playing something different once in a while, just one problem is that folks have to get the map...

I'd say make like a screen: Download the new map here XXXXXXXX anda little admin texting them to go Download it, and maybe after a month, add it to the circuit and see how it works?

ppl will still join tempest for other maps and maybe will get the new map when they see it's beeing played...
It works on FFA servers then why not here?

If there is one thing I have learned about running pub servers in my 4-5 years of playing, it is never to put custom maps on them.

If they want to play a custom map and are smart enough to go get it from a website, they are smart enough to do /password pugtime and connect to impulse.

What Guard meant is pub players arent smart enough to get custom maps...
Pub players consist mostly of non-american players tbh and thus have no interest in custom maps.
and yes custom maps usually kills pub server population as learned from SS server.

what i would suggest is to setup a custom map server not locked (prehaps putting that RCB server to some yews)

JA is shitty needs to have auto-downloads from web sources instead of straight off the server through the game. It's normal in an FPS now to be able to autodownload a new map in less than a minute(i.e. source engine).

There's actually a server cvar that lets you put a URL for auto downloading, but I could never get it to work.
