I rarely see any regular puggers spamming on tempest unless we're just fucking around. There is a difference between throwing your mines at someones face, or into a doorway, then SK'ing for ammo and placing mines, fighting with thermals, then sk'ing for health and ammo.

The idea that there is a coloration between killing yourself and spam is insane.

So to clarify, the reason we have a rule for spamming the midget door with rockets and not with mines, is because it is too ambiguous what would be spamming that midget door with mines. While it is great in theory to say that placing is fine and throwing all of them constantly at the door is not, there is undoubtedly going to be gray scenarios where someone was trying to place a few at the door and ends up killing the entire team. It is unfeasible to enforce mine spam. And quite honestly, I don't trust people to determine what is spam and what isn't, which is why I only made rules around things that are 100% clear like throwing them at elevators.

I do understand why you guys drew the conclusions you did though around the midget door and I do take part blame for this, I apologize for the confusion.

Oh Guard could we make a formal rule reguarding spec join? People have the idea lately to spec join to avoid max or being killed by opposing team.

This might not be a terrible idea. It's not something we see a LOT of, but it can be agitating. IMO it deserves it's on rule, because it completely defeats the spawntimer which is a fundamental component of the entire gametype.

Not SK'ing for health/ammo is exactly one of the reasons a "New School" vs. "Old School" pug would go to the new schoolers. Trying to be a badass and not SK'ing when you have 10hp left is moronic.

You're arguing with me about a game you were not even in, you have NO idea what i am even speaking of.

as far as not sk'ing, i had the most kills, and never once sk'd..... and won the map.

And as far as old school vs new school. that would be one of my match demands. Base server settings and no suicides. Why is it ok in your brain that Sk'ing for a shield is not permitted but Sk'ing cause your almost dead or out of ammo is ok?

Gonna throw my few cents in here...

As far as spam goes, it's a real hazy line between trying to put a few mines on the walls just before the offense comes through, and throwing them so that they rip apart the offense. Rockets are easy to see the difference, so I can see how you can do the rule there. Golan spam (anywhere) is also a hard case, as it doesn't follow a set path each time. And noobs (me) tend to get them sprayed all over, even if they aren't trying to fill an area with balls. Like Guard said, only a few cases can be argued against (shooting down the lift).
