Officially ban racial slurs and other forms of bigotry?

@Kera: Sorry you couldn't be bothered to read my long post. If you had you'd realize I wasn't saying lick was any proof of success. I was saying rS was starting to show similarities with it. I'm not trying to be insulting by that. Merely making an observation.

@Guard: You are talking 6v6. Obviously too many jans can unbalance that team. Tempest is nothing like that. On tempest you are talking 12 v 12. I can field four jans and still have enough firepower to kill anyone with that many players. Leaving field spam up to the discretion of admins is all fine and dandy too if there were enough on.

The problem is I cannot in good faith enforce a rule like this unless everyone is generally in agreement.

You'll never get it higher than 60/40 Guard. Its one of those issues that splits pretty evenly and always will. Thats why I said you should have just decided it. Its really about what kind of environment you want on your server and forum. One in which people can and will yews racial slurs to provoke one another or one in which that behavior is curbed by consequences.

Banning racial slurs causes people no harm in expressing themselves. They can certainly express their dislike for people and things in other ways. The best way to look at it, I think, is that it is all about them. They want to do what they want and what they want is not to have to control their own behavior. This struggle is the individual vs the community or collective. This is not the same thing as a majority vs a minority. The vote is evenly split. The point is they want it allowed for themselves whereas those who want it banned want it banned so that there are fewer arguments and problems in the community. You have to decide which is best for your clan.

As far as Veader goes if you don't ban him or get him to stop some other way(I'm always for more polite alternatives) then you are just going to have a continuing problem. I know you realize it and it is likely why you made the comment about your rules possibly needing a change.

@Wafflz: I wasn't trying to insult you at all with that comment. The whole point was to illustrate how racial slurs can so easily bait people and cause problems. Your response also supports what I said about how hard it is to tell how the person means it. If you still want to waste our time in a 1v1 then RCB is free and I am too this weekend.

And as far as the jan thing goes Major, I have yet to be stopped in my tracks during a siege round by a team because they have too many jans, until I see it to believe it I will not touch the no jan limit rule.

We discussed it, and while we are against racism and the yews of derogatory terms, we will not enact any rules or censorship.

It is our hope however that yews of such words and language will be kept to the utmost minimum on this website though.

A prime example is last night, when we did a 6's pug without a jan limit. I was on the offense against a team of 3 jans, and slowly they realized they just didn't have the sheer firepower to stop my team, and by the end of the game, had gone down to only 1 jan.

The only reason we had 3 jans is because Juice went jan even though me and Jawa were already janning. And we also had the Zero handicap. So it was basically 6v4 due to two of our team members not contributing anything. Juice eventually got off jan, but they were still failing at killing enemies. That's why Jawa got off jan towards the end, to help with killing shit.
