If you find jan boring then you must suck at it. When I play jan I am constantly doing multiple things to help out the team, not to mention getting plenty of demp/pistol kills on my own. I'm doing too many things at once to get bored.

It might seem boring to low cals because it doesn't get a lot of kills on its own. But that's not the point, though. The point of jan is to make the rest of the team better. It's like having a good offensive line. When you have a good OL, it makes your QB, RBs, and WRs all look better. Take 2009 for instance, Toby Gerhart might have been better than Mark Ingram in terms of sheer skill, but Ingram had a much better OL and had huge running lanes open all the time, so he looked better. A noob might spec a pug and look at the losing team and think "these guys suck at demo/reborn boss, so that's why they're losing" when more likely they have a bad jan and the enemies are never frozen, they are constantly having to maneuver through mines, they are getting shocked by the other team's jan, and they are virtually playing down a man due to their crappy jan. Give Aaron Rodgers a terrible offensive line and see if he still looks like Aaron Rodgers out there.

You can... just blow up an enemy demo's mines when he steps near them. Or demp a wook and make them 'splode themselves with their own rockets. Easy shit.

I think the reason most newbies don't play jan (both offense and defense) is because they are more likely to get yelled at while playing that class than any other class due to everything everyone has said in this thread about how crucial that class is.

Most newbies also don't play tesh because they think siege is some FFA with guns and so they go arround as snowtrooper and heavies and lando and try to get all the kills.

O jan isn't boring, it's just you can't really play it with shitty teammates since they're not going to grasp the immensely profound concepts of retrieving the codes and then delivering them.

I think O jan is more entertaining than D jan. I don't like either jan.
Admittedly, I'm not a good jan - I'm like a C+/B- of a jan.
